I am in an empty kitchen where I notice the fridge doors are left open, so I step up to the tall metal ice closet and close the doors.
That's when I notice the flicker of a small blue flame on the gas stove
I approach and inspect to find one of the knobs is askew and not turned off all the way. There is nothing being cooked, so I reach my hand forward towards the knob to turn it off, momentarily pausing midway at the sensation of heat emanating from the nearby flame. I take in its presence. (hotter than I expected at this distance!)
Not a second later I turn the knob, and with a hot WOOSH of butane gas, but no flames, the stove turns off and I jump back and away with a start, laughing in relief to find the surprise heat blast didn’t actually burn anything!
And then I woke up.
